Ryse and Assassin’s Creed Playthrough Double Feature!

Ladies and Gentlemen, sit down and relax as we take a scenic tour to the past with Ryse: Son of Rome and Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India!

Our first stop is Rome, with our Ryse: Son of Rome Playthrough. Our hero, Marius, must slog his way through hordes of enemies to see that justice is done and that the Roman Empire doesn’t fall. From the streets of Rome to the swamps of Britain to the Colosseum, Marius is going to pursue his goals. Thanks to the Arkham-ish style combat system, think of him as an ancient Roman Batman. Just without the gadgets or the theatricality. Who kills people in brutal ways. Usually involving some kind of decapitation. But hey that’s all good, because Romans.

Speaking of killing people, this is a perfect time to segue into the next item. Newly released comes the second installment in the Assassin’s Creed Chronicles trilogy, this one focusing on India. Last time we focused on Shao Jun stopping Templar hijinks in China, only to see the eventual result of that storyline play out a couple hundred years or so later in 1841’s Colonial India. Master Assassin Arbaaz Mir, like every other Assassin protagonist before and after him, must stop a Templar plot having to do with ancient technology with his 2.5 dimensional platforming and assassination skills.

Ryse: Son of Rome (2013) is a third-person action-adventure hack and slash video game developed by Crytek Frankfurt and published by Microsoft Studios.

Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India (2016) is the second video game in the Chronicles series, a trilogy of downloadable installments featuring protagonists from various media of the Assassin’s Creed franchise.
