BTL Radio Podcast: Narrative in Games

behindthelineradio-fin-cols-title

Today it’s a super sized edition of Behind the Line Radio.  Bill joins us to discuss narrative styles in video games.  In the time since his last appearance, he had become more and more upset about “The Beginner’s Guide”, so we discuss the shortcomings there, and the strengths of narratives in other games such as like “Gone Home.” How does an actor consider all of these different games?  What gets Bill just so upset about the narrative style of “The Beginner’s Guide” when another game by the same creator, “The Stanley Parable,” gets praise?  We discuss this in depth.

After all that, a brief story about a memorable way to quit.
