BTL Radio Podcast: Publishers and Developers

behindthelineradio-fin-cols-title

Publishers and developers are perceived very differently by the public.  Developers are  often seen as the artists, the go-getters, the scrappy team trying to bring you their vision and being held down by the money grubbing tycoons at the publisher.  Anything that is good is because that was the developer’s vision shining through.  Anything wrong is because the publisher wouldn’t give the developer time, or were forcing unreasonable expectations on the developer.  Now, it’s not like aspects of this can never happen (though even there it took 2 to tango), but the reality is certainly far more nuanced.

This week we have another mega-sized Behind the Line Radio with three industry vets joining in to discuss the publisher/developer dynamic.  The discussion covers a wide range of topics, and we try to dispel more than a few myths about where problems come from, and who has to pick up the pieces.

Also, how to do a NASTY prank for April Fools Day in the office.  Use this knowledge carefully!
