Great video! Made me laugh a lot, and you covered a lot of things I hadn’t even thought of or noticed! Thanks for the warning ahead of a Last of Us spoiler. Ripped my headphones off for a few, haha.
Also… OMG “down boy!” clip…. I died laughing.
Taken on its own merits, I didn’t have too many problems with the introduction to Mass Effect 3 (outside of “We fight or we DIE!!!”, which sounds better in a trailer than it ever will in a contextual situation).
What I never liked was its approach and what it signified for the rest of the game. There was very little player input, the variations in dialogue that were meant to reflect previous choices were more concerned with reflecting “Did you play a previous Mass Effect at all or is this your first one?”, and the level was loaded with uninspired shooter set pieces. It set an unwelcoming tone, especially given that the hours that follow are, for the most part, much better.
I look forward to the next video.
