BTL Radio Podcast: Working on Doomed Projects
Hello Enthusiacs. We’ve all heard about projects getting stuck in development hell, and sometimes we spare a thought for the people working on those projects, like the poor souls who were stuck working on Duke Nukem Forever for 10 years… But we don’t often realize that so many of the underwhelimng, unimpressive, or commercially doomed games have plenty of people on them who already understand the game is going to suck. The hard working rank and file who do everything they can to get the best product possible out given what they have to work with. This week, we have a newcomer, Mike, joining us to discuss what it’s like to work on a game that you know won’t go anywhere.
Also, in usual Behind the Line Radio fashion, the conversation careens across other topics, such as motivation in the workplace, managing communication with customers, and as always our war stories segment where Mike explains that cheating is bad, m’kay?
