The Attic: Annabelle Trailer

Welcome to the Attic, I like your dolls.

It has arrived. The trailer for the much anticipated Annabelle movie has been released, and it looks damn good. But first let’s quickly cover where this super creepy doll was first introduced to us. For those who haven’t seen it, in my humble opinion The Conjuring is truly one of the greatest horror movies of all time. It has everything, and then some. It’s a masterpiece, and was an instant classic when it was released in July last year. The true story surrounded a case investigated by Ed and Lorraine Warren, in which they had to help a family that had just moved into a haunted house. Ed, a demonologist, and Lorraine, a medium, have been known for decades among the paranormal world. Another case teased in the Conjuring is that of the possessed doll, Annabelle. Despite being a side dish to the main story line, Annabelle quickly struck a chord among audiences and it was only a matter of time before this was released. Now on to the good stuff:

This looks GOOD. It gives enough back story to why she’s possessed, without going too crazy on us. I mean some movies try too hard to explain origins, and I like that they seem to be keeping this simple. I’m also very glad that it appears they are teasing a lot more of the beginning of the film vs. showing too much of the later part of it. That was another thing the Conjuring did right, and I’m happy to see them taking that approach again. The less they show in a horror trailer, the better. That last scene really gave me chills, I mean her voice. Come on, that’s enough to keep you awake at night after hearing that.

As I mentioned a while back, the New Line movie is set to star Annabelle Wallis and Ward Horton. Conjuring director James Wan and cinematographer John Leonetti are returning for the production of Annabelle. Wan will produce and Leonetti will take over as director for this spin-off. Even better news is that it will be released THIS October 3rd, 2014. I was fully expecting to not see this until next year, so I for one am pleasantly surprised. Looking forward to this? Thoughts on the trailer? Please share your opinions in the comments below!

Stay scared,

Dark Princess
