The Attic: YouTube Horror Shorts

screen-shot-2014-03-18-at-10-48-46-pmWelcome to the Attic. Sorry, this video is not available on this device…

A largely unnoticed realm of the horror genre is that which exists on the largest video streaming website of all. YouTube is home to cussing children, music videos, and cats. Lots of cats. But it also houses a pretty amazing stage for aspiring film-makers. There is a slew of horror shorts being created by some very talented people. I’m not just talking about your random Slender Man documentary. I’m talking about entire channels of horror shorts made by inventive minds that have a way of getting under your skin in 10 minutes or less. It’s really quite incredible once you give it a shot. As a massive fan of anything scary, I have to admit it made me wonder why horror films don’t feel this raw, and why it takes some movies 35 minutes to give you a good scare when these guys can make you almost wet yourself in no time.

I’m going to give you two of the best channels I have come across (a BIG thank you to my friend, Calvinocious on the Enthusiacs forum, for pointing these out to me in the first place) then a small collection of what I think is the scariest videos on YouTube. So sit back, turn the lights off, and put a diaper on. Just kidding…ish.
