We pick up here from where we left off last time as Oolong, the pig from last time, is basically Bulma and Goku’s prisoner at the start and once he hears their destination, fire mountain, he decides screw that noise and attempts to escape. This does lead to a funny moment when Bulma lures him back with her panties on a fishing line (or cash in the ocean edit)

This does beg to question why this would bring him back as he knows they are still going to the mountain but hey this is Oolong were talking about perversion is his specialty.

Oolong hoisted by his own perverted nature is recaptured and Bulma, as a way to say she’s sorry for capturing him, gives him a vitamin. Being a pig he eats it down without even chewing and we find that this was a ruse. Bulma actually gave him an experimental drug that if someone makes the “piggy” sound will cause Oolong to shit his pants uncontrollably.

For the remainder of his time with the group this is what they use to keep him in line. This just seems frankly mean spirited and is something I had a huge problem with the first time I watched it. I mean yeah he’s an asshole but this is downright mad science tactics here.

Anyway in his escape attempt he caused all of Bulma’s capsules to fall into the water and be lost so no more capsule tech for them. Instead they have to walk well aside from Goku who is riding his cloud. No shock but Oolong can’t ride the nimbus.

Stopping to nap the group leaves themselves wide open to attack. This leads to the introduction of Yamcha who is planning on robbing our heroes. He and Goku do battle and to be blunt Goku gets his ass handed to him for the first time falling to the power of Yamcha’s wolf fang fist, which is an awesome name for an attack.

He is actually planning to kill Goku when Bulma awakens from her nap and when Yamcha sees her he flees red faced and screaming. She of course gets a quick look at him and declairs she is in love with him causing Oolong and all of us frankly to facepalm.

We then learn why Yamcha ran, he is terrified of women, a fact that embarrasses him to no end, He vows he will get Goku next time and the episode ends.

Overall this was a fun episode that was basically just their to introduce Yamcha who will be a long time character. It establishes his rivally with Goku as well as Bulma’s romantic interest in the man and while having nothing to do with the dragonballs was still a good story.

My complaint about the shit yourself pill aside I really enjoyed with one and look forward to joining you all on the next episode of DragonBall.
